Intaglio/Lithography

Course Description

This course is an introduction to the history, principles, and practice of intaglio and lithographic printing. The semester will be divided into two sections. Students will produce work investigating the basic processes of intaglio in one section and the basic lithographic processes in one section. In the final section, students will produce a work using the processes of their choice which could be focused in either intaglio, lithography, or both. Projects will be completed through both individual and group efforts. Students should take full advantage of the collaborative community of the printshop by working with each other and participating in the free exchange of criticism and ideas that so readily occurs in this environment.
